Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
Came into existence as Crown Representative's Police on 27 July 1939
Guards civil airports as well as major installations of India such as aero space domain and nuclear domain.
Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)
Established as Special Service Bureau in May 1963
Guards Indo-Bhutan and Indo-Nepal frontiers.
Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
Established in 24 October 1962
Guards Sino-Indian border.
National Security Guard (NSG)
Set up in 1984 as a Federal Contingency Deployment Force
Specialist counter-terrorism force.
Assam Rifles
Raised as Cachar Levy in 1835 and is the oldest Central Para Military Force in India
Guards Indo-Myanmar border. It is also deployed in counter-insurgency operations in Northeast India.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
Came into existence in 1969
Deployed for anti-naxal operations, law and order maintenance as well as internal security.
