Cloned Human embryo - They did it

A group of US Scientists in second week of May 2013 declared that they have succeeded in creating a cloned human embryo using the technique that helped in developing the cloned sheep in 1996.

The team of scientists developed the embryo using skin samples of a woman’s egg to develop an early cloned human embryo. Aim of this research is development of a source of stem cells not a baby. These can be helpful in repair of damage created after heart attack or brains of patients of Parkinson’s disease.

Somatic Cell Nuclear transfer technique was used in development of the embryo and it is the same technique that was used for developing the Ship Dolly, the first cloned animal in 1996.

Meghna River

The Meghna River is the most important river in Bangladesh, one of the three that forms the Ganges Delta, the largest on earth fanning out to the Bay of Bengal. Being a part of the Surma-Meghna River System, Meghna is formed inside Bangladesh by the joining of different rivers originating from the hilly regions of eastern India. The river meets Padma River in Chandpur District. The river ultimately flows into the Bay of Bengal in Bhola District.
Major tributaries of the Meghna include the Dhaleshwari River, Gumti River, and Feni River. The Meghna empties into the Bay of Bengal via four principal mouths, named Tetulia, Shahbazpur, Hatia, and Bamni.
The Meghna is the widest river among those that flow completely inside the boundaries of Bangladesh. At one point near Bhola, Meghna is 12 km wide. In its lower reaches this river follows almost a straight line in its path. Despite its very calm and quiet look, this river is the cause of many deaths every year. Several ferry and launch sinkings in the past have killed hundreds, like the MV Salahuddin-2 and the MV Nasrin-1. Near Chandpur it is very dangerous.

Course

The Meghna is a distributary of the great river Brahmaputra. The Meghna is formed inside Bangladesh by the joining of the Surma and Kushiyara rivers originating from the hilly regions of eastern India. Down to Chandpur, Meghna is hydrographically referred to as the Upper Meghna. After the Padma joins, it is referred to as the Lower Meghna.
Near Muladhuli in Barisal district, the Safipur River is an offshoot of the Surma that creates one of the main rivers in South Bengal. 1.5 km wide, this river is one of the widest in the country as well.
At Ghatalpur of Brahmanbaria District, the river Titas emerges from Meghna and after circling two large bends by 240 km, falls into the Meghna again near Nabinagar Upazila. Titas forms as a single stream but braids into two distinct streams which remain separate before re-joining the Meghna.
In Daudkandi, Comilla, Meghna is joined by the great river Gomoti, created by the combination of many streams. This river reinforces Meghna a lot and increases the waterflow considerably. The pair of bridges over Meghna and Gomoty are two of the country's largest bridges. The Dakatua River is also part of the river system in Comilla district.
Meghna is reinforced by the Dhaleshwari before Chandpur as well. The name for the largest distributary of the Ganges in Bangladesh is the Padma River. When the Padma joins with the Jamuna River, the largest distributary of the Brahmaputra, and they join with the Meghna in Chandpur District, the result in Bangladesh is called the Lower Meghna. When the brown and hazy water of the Padma mix with the clear water of the Upper Meghna, the two streams do not mix but flow in parallel down to the sea - making half of the river clear and the other half brown. This peculiarity of the river is always a great attraction for people.
After Chandpur, when the river has the combined flow of the Padma and Jamuna it moves down to the Bay of Bengal in an almost straight line. In her course from Chandpur to Bay of Bengal, the Meghna braids into a number of little rivers including the Pagli, Katalia, Dhonagoda, Matlab and Udhamodi. All of these rivers flow out from the Meghna and rejoin again at points downstream.
Near Bhola, just before flowing into the Bay of Bengal, the river divides into two main streams in the Ganges delta and separates an island from both sides of the mainland. The western stream is called Ilsha and the eastern one is called Bamni.

IISC designed a New Concept of Vaccine Delivery System

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) designed and successfully tested a new concept of needleless vaccine delivery system in the laboratory. IISc has become the only organization in the world that has developed such a device. The new device was the result of collaboration among the laboratory for hypersonic and shock wave, the department of aerospace engineering, and the microbiology and cell biology department of the Indian Institute of Science.
Typhoid vaccine was successfully delivered into mice in laboratory using the new technique. The device utilizes the instantaneous mechanical impulse produced by micro-blast waves to achieve delivery of vaccines into mice.  A negligible amount of chemical energy is used to generate the micro-blast wave inside a small disposable plastic tube.
Since the depth of penetration of drug below the skin is not much, animals do not feel the pain during vaccine delivery.
The trials on animals have proved that by using this device a lesser quantity of vaccines is sufficient to provide resistance to animals against in comparison to conventional methods. The new system is safe, economical and painless

Cancer at One Rupee

The Union Cabinet today approved the revised Food Security Bill which proposes food handouts of 5 kg for every entitled person, or 25 kg for a family of five, at Rs 3 per kg for rice, Rs 2 per kg for wheat and Re 1 per kg for coarse grains.

The cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, cleared the bill, a dream project of Congress president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

The bill was strongly backed by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and says will benefit 67 per cent of India's population. The Congress is banking on the bill to boost its ratings ahead of a 2014 general election.

The very idea of cheap food for 67 per cent of the population, or 800 million people, can cheer up voters. But this votebank politics would severely ruin our nation of millions and our 'bharat Ma'.

Just go and ask UPA from where would you get this much amount of food grains available to masses. Is the foodgrain ORGANIC ?? Is India prepared for this much food subsidy? Organic foods are made in a way that limits the use of synthetic materials during production.

Several states had also proposed low cost foodgrains to the poor. In the long run GREEN REVOLUTION has been a bane to our nation. We are providing CANCER to our masses who are already suffering from so many diseases. Cancer be at one Kg will be very costly  to the poor. The recent rise in cancer population in punjab and haryana is to be seen seriously. A few trains in the northen region of INDIA are called Cancer trains as they carry maximum cancer patients to big cities for cure.

Why not government giving BAJRA,MAIZE,JOWAR at one rupee than WHEAT and RICE. Wheat require more water and the use of artificial fertilisier will deteriorate our soil and will make it barrain.
